December 2009: We realize we haven't done many updates in awhile on the DVD rental scene, but will be making some changes in the near future.
November 2009: Not much new this month.
October 2009: Seventymm has added a new Get It Now feature, which lets you ensure next day dispatch of a chosen disc, rather than relying on your queue. You can order by email or SMS--a very useful function when you don't want to rely on the next film in your list being available--you can check and then reserve it.
September 2009: Nothing new to add to the wonderful and wide world of Indian DVD and video game rental by delivery this month.
August 2009: Again, the industry remains pretty stable, with no changes to the site this month.
July 2009: Nothing new to report.
June 2009: All's quiet in the world of DVD and game rental in India.
May 2009: No further site updates for May.
April 2009: It's been a slow month in DVD rental after the massive update of last month--nothing new to pass on.
March 2009: Again, not much new to report this month, though we did redesign our website, widening it from 800 to 1,000 pixels. Our tracking shows that very few of our visitors have a display with under 1,000 pixels, so we felt it was a good time to upgrade. This allows us to include extras like a sidebar beside our main table with definitions for the fields we use. We can also use some larger fonts and such, and hope the site is more functional and more modern looking as a result.
February 2009: Little new to report in Indian DVD rentals this mont, but we have introduced a blog, to closely track developments in the Indian DVD rental industry. We've also populated the blog with our site updates here going back to 2007, so it will serve as an archive of changes to the industry as well. We hope visitors find it useful.
January 2009: Nothing new to report as yet in the new year, but we'll continue to watch the Indian DVD market closely.
Happy renting in 2009!
April 2008: Nothing new to report on the online rental scene.
January 2008: We added new Mumbai movie and book rental service Rentalmasti. Nothing else major to report for the new year, but it will be interesting to see watch the online DVD rental market continue to expand and go mainstream this year.
November 2007: First major site update, verifying prices, inventory sizes, expansions in area, etc. The biggest news was Seventymm's acquisition of Madhouse, confirming their role at the top of Indian DVD rental. Our lowest ranked rental company, Friday Box Office, also went out of business during this time. We also added coverage of Cinebox and the very promising Bigflicks, which we debuted and number three.
June 2007: We launched India-DVD-Rental-Guide.com as a resource providing information and customer comments on the (currently 12) Indian DVD rental sites. We've been monitoring the Indian market since late 2006, just hadn't gotten around to finishing the guide. But now that we have, we plan on making monthly updates as needed, and will note the changes in this What's New section. Please email us if you notice any discrepancies, and we'll fix them.
Happy Renting!
